Rules
The national police DNI pages describe a photo 32 mm high and 26 mm wide, on a plain white background, frontal, head uncovered, good photo paper. Ears need not be visible. Clear glasses are allowed. Dark lenses are only for people who are blind or who have a serious permanent eye condition.
The DNI renewal page allows a photo up to 2 years old. Face height and expression are not stated. If the DNI was issued or renewed the same day, a passport photo is not required. Consulate rules outside Spain are not on these pages.

Don't
- Do not assume a consulate abroad uses this domestic size.
