Rules
The Department of Foreign Affairs asks for a colour JPEG at least 715×951 pixels, at most 9 MB, not a scan, not a selfie, and without heavy compression. Prints are four identical photos, from 35×45 mm to 38×50 mm, on photo paper with a white unglazed back. Black and white is recommended because the passport prints that way. Colour is accepted. A witness writes on the back of two of the four.
Background is plain light grey, white, or cream, with contrast and no shadow. Do not smile. Mouth closed. Clear glasses are allowed. No dark glasses and no glare. The face percentage is not on the passport page.
Do
- Meet 715×951 and stay under 9 MB.
- Keep a neutral mouth with no smile.
- Use light grey, white, or cream.
Don't
- Do not submit a selfie or a photo of a screen.
- Do not wear a uniform.
- Do not leave a pacifier in a baby photo.
